My touchpad just stopped working out of the blue. I did an update and restarted but it is still not working. I double tapped the upper left corner, I pressed escape repeatedly, I did a rolling tap on the touchpad. Nothing is working. Please help.

@Nita04 Welcome to HP Community!
Here are some actions you can take when your touchpad stops working.
Solution 1: Even if it is quite obvious you can try to press Esc key several times. Some users reported fixing the issue after 5-10 hits.
Solution 2: Perform a drum-roll with your fingers on the Chromebook touchpad for a few moments.
Solution 3: Try to reboot your machine the hard way. Press and hold the power button until all the lights go off. Check and see if this fixes the problem.
Solution 4: Login to your Guest account and see if there your pointing device is working or not. Some users reported that after they logged in their Guest account then rebooted, their touchpad started working again. To do this head to the Login screen and navigate between accounts using the arrow keys.
Solution 5: If you are currently not logged in an owner account, either create one or switch to the owner account. In some cases the touchpad can be disabled for all users by default except the owner account.
Solution 6: Find an old mouse and plug it in using one of the free USB ports available. Play around with the cursor for a little while, then unplug it. In some cases this action will kick start your touchpad back to working status.
Solution 7 : In case everything above fails, we recommend performing a factory reset: Click here for steps.
