I am using my hp laptop since 2 years but I am facing touchpad issue since I bought it. I already contacted with hp agents but I never got any permanent solution. I am sure they are just delaying my issue because gurantee period is about to expire. If I do not get any solution this time I have to buy another laptop I am fed up with this issue. I am a working employee and I can not deal it with anymore. If somebody has solution please let me know or I will never buy hp laptop in my life again and also suggest this to my all known people.

Hi @Dhruv31 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Pavilion X360's touchpad. Let's try a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Step 1: Enable the Touchpad
- Function Key: Ensure that the touchpad is not disabled via the function key. Look for a key with a touchpad icon (usually one of the F1-F12 keys) and press it along with the Fn key to toggle the touchpad on and off.
- Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure the touchpad is enabled and adjust any settings as needed.
Step 2: Update/Reinstall Touchpad Drivers
Update Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select it).
- Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
- Right-click on your touchpad device (likely labeled as Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the touchpad device and select Uninstall device.
- Confirm and restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the touchpad driver.
Step 3: HP Support Assistant
- Use HP Support Assistant:
- Open the HP Support Assistant (it should be pre-installed on your laptop).
- Check for any updates for your system, especially related to the touchpad.
Step 4: BIOS Settings and Updates
Update BIOS:
- Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve hardware-related issues.
- Go to the HP support website and search for the latest BIOS update for your model.
- Follow the instructions to download and install the update.
BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS setup.
- Navigate to the System Configuration or similar tab.
- Ensure the touchpad is enabled.
Step 5: Windows Troubleshooter
- Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters.
- Run the troubleshooter for Hardware and Devices.
Step 6: Check for Conflicting Software
- Safe Mode:
- Boot your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the touchpad works.
- If it does, a third-party application might be causing the issue. Consider reviewing recently installed applications or performing a clean boot to identify the conflict.
Step 7: Check for Physical Issues
- Hardware Check:
- Ensure there’s no physical damage to the touchpad or any visible obstruction.
- You may want to have a technician check the internal connection of the touchpad to the motherboard.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for reply, but unfortunately I tried all of the mentioned step above and nothing worked. I talked more than 10 times through chat support but no one could solve my issue. Then one day one of your agent suggested me to reinstall a windows with help of him but then he did not come next day. Then I did reinstall by myself but it did not solve the issue. It worked for 5 minutes and then stopped. I tried many times to call hp call center no one picked the call. Now I literally don't have time because I wasted 1 and half year to resolve this issue . If you are still interested please arrange some repairs directly because my warranty is going to over next month. Worst service ever I got.
Thank you.
I recommend to not provide any steps to troubleshoot I have performed all of them by myself and even from the internet l.

Thank you for your response but unfortunately I could not find any solution with your PRIVATE message(as you didn't provide me any solution you just provided me number of italian help center and they already wasted my time thats why you were my last hope). I request you to not delay in resolving my problem and try to provide some robust solution that I can implement. If you do not have any solution then arrange me a repair or replace my unit otherwise I will have to commence with further proceedings from my side. Please don't give me any useless solution I really want genuine response this time.
Waiting for you response....
