Everything worked great until I downloaded the HP Support Assistant recommended drivers last week. Since then, I cannot scroll using the touchpad, ONLY in Internet Explorer in the foreground.
I can two-finger scroll and zoom in Internet Explorer while Internet Explorer is not the window with focus. But if I click on it and bring it to foreground, I can no longer scroll using two fingers on touchpad.
Every other window and browser zooms and scrolls as normal with touchpad. Just not Internet Explorer while it has focus.
I have already reset IE advanced settings, reinstalled Internet Explorer 11

I suggest you reinstall the Touchpad driver from Device Manager
- Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Mice and other pointing devices and expand the List
- Look for Touchpad driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Touchpad driver and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
Also ensure Windows has all the latest updates and download the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes 😊
