OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xd0000 (758R2AV)

Hey, my touchpad suddenly stopped working while I was using my laptop, it was working just fine a moment ago and suddenly it stopped giving any response to the system. I have checked in device manager and there it shows and it works fine but when I ran a test in hp assistant I couldn't even move the mouse to the box it said in the test. Please help me out I am freaking out a little.

Hi @Zac07_

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I see you are experiencing Touchpad issues with the HP Omen Laptop.

I have a few recommendations.

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

If the issue persist then test the touchpad using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

  1. Start or restart the computer.
  2. Press F2 repeatedly during start up to enter the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility.
  3. Select Component Tests > Touchpad
  4. Click Run Once.

Once the test completes, results are displayed on the screen.

If the test passes, continue to restore a computer back to the factory default using Reset PC inside windows, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.

If this solution hit the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
