HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hey,

I bought this notebook in 2013, it had touchscreen and it worked until about 2015-2016. Since then I have just been dealing with it while trying to fix the problem while I have the time. Now I have decided to post a forum as all things I have done don't work.

I have tried doing everything I could think of;

I updated graphics card, bios, windows etc.

However, I cannot find a way to fix this, I have went to my device manager and went under human interface but I do not see the HID touchscreen compliant. I tried contacting HP but everytime I call, I get to the point where it asks to go free route or paid and I ask for the free one through the CPU call center and it ends the call. I hope someone has the actual fix to this issue because I legit have tried everything and nothing works. Do not hesitate to ask for furthur questions my notebook model is a HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC.

Thanks for any help!

There are several ways you can fix the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Driver Missing Issue on Windows 10, 8.

At first, try to follow Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices  to see if the device can show.

Then Use the Hardware and device troubleshooter. Follow Start > Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Hardware and Devices > Run the troubleshooter.

Update the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Driver. Because you know the laptop model, so go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers to download the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Driver and install it manually.

You can try to update your Windows version. Update Windows can help to fix many bugs and update the hardware drivers.

Try to use System File Checker command. Open your command prompt with adminstartor, and then type in sfc/scannow to make the Windows check the system and fix it automatically.

And here is a solution about it, but it is for Windows 10, there is some different for Windows 8:

Wish this can help.

Thanks for your help but none of those solutions worked, I think I might just have to take this laptop to HP and pay them to fix it. Also the touch screen driver, the HID Touch Screen Compliant does not show in the drivers list when I try finding it on HP's website.
