Pavilion X360 13-S128NR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While trying to get my stylus to work, I accidentally flashed the wrong touchscreen firmware. I assumed that if the firmware didn't match, that it wouldn't make any changes to my laptop. I was wrong. I need the correct touchscreen firmware (update or recovery) for my Pavilion X360 convertible. I have tried literally every FHD and QHD firmware updates I could find on the forums, but none work.

I no longer have the HID-touchscreen device under Device Manager, and my touchscreen does not work in BIOS. Thanks.

Welcome to HP Support Community

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hello, thanks for the response; however, this is much different than drivers. When flashing the wrong firmware update, I rendered my touchscreen completely useless. It doesn't even register touch in BIOS. There are many others who have done this, and the only way to fix it is for HP to give me the right touchscreen firmware for my model.

I'm very frustrated because I made a dumb mistake, but the firmware update DID NOT check to ensure it was the right touchscreen panel. It flashed the firmware anyway effectively killing my panel. And now, there is no firmware on HP's website that I can find that works for me. Like I said, this has to come from HP internally, but I don't know how to escalate the issue higher and my laptop is out of warranty. The hardware works fine, but I just need this firmware to make it work again.
