HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1002nh
Microsoft Windows 11

The touchscreen stopped working on my HP Pavallion x360 - 14-dh1002nh.

I reinstalled win11, I tried reinstall the drivers automaticly and manualy, but nothing. The ELAN EzTouchFilter driver got an error code: The device failed the SET_POWER command. I saw on the forum, this problem is related to power state for that driver, but I cannot change it.

@Dogorn, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're facing a challenging issue with the touchscreen on your HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1002nh. Based on the information you've provided, there are a few steps you can take to try to resolve the issue with the ELAN EzTouchFilter driver:

Update the BIOS: Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve driver-related issues. You can check for any BIOS updates specifically for your model on the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Check Windows Update: Make sure all Windows updates are installed. Windows Update can sometimes provide necessary drivers and patches that might solve hardware issues. You can search for and install updates by going to the Windows Update settings on your computer.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Touchscreen Driver:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Find your touchscreen driver under "Human Interface Devices" or "Mice and other pointing devices".
  • Right-click the driver and select "Uninstall device".
  • Restart your computer and allow Windows to automatically reinstall the driver.

Install the Driver from HP Support:

  • Visit the HP Support website to manually download and install the latest driver specific to your laptop model.

Check Power Settings:

  • Sometimes drivers may fail due to power settings. Ensure all power settings allow the touchscreen to run in full power mode:
  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.
  • Look for options related to USB settings and touchscreen, and set them to "Maximum performance".

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • HP Support Assistant can automatically scan for issues and help with troubleshooting. You can download it from HP’s official website if it’s not already installed.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve already tried several steps to resolve the touchscreen issue, but unfortunately, nothing has worked so far.

  • I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver via Windows Update—no change.
  • I downloaded the latest driver from HP Support, but it’s only compatible with Windows 10, and I’m running Windows 11.
  • I even reinstalled Windows 10 to test it with the correct driver, but the touchscreen still didn’t respond.
  • I’ve adjusted the power settings and used HP Support Assistant, but it didn’t detect any relevant updates or issues.
  • At this point, it’s as if the laptop never had a touchscreen at all.
