Anybody here know how the glass display panel is attached withing the laptop lid? My machine has an issue where the glass is starting to separate from the top half of the clamshell, in the lower-left corner. I'm guessing it is glued in place, and the glue is failing. I guess it would be more accurate to say the shell is separating from the glass, as the glass is the more rigid of the two items. From a structural standpoint, it seems HP didn't do too much testing of this build decision as this laptop has sat on my desk motionless for 2 years. I have probably open/closed the lid less than 300 times. I've never used the touchscreen feature, so pressing on the display panel didn't cause the issue.
If you're going to rely on the structural rigidity of the glass to keep the upper clamshell solid... perhaps it would have been useful to securely attach the glass to the hinged clamshell.

Hi @cjpembo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I see you are having issues with the display panel on your HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k025dx Sleekbook. Here is a link to your service manual Page 21, that shows you the assembly.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I used that document before when trying to determine how to fix the wireless issues. Solution was to not use the wireless...
Looks like it might be an issue where a screw is detached from the back side of the glass panel display, near the lower part of the hinge, connecting the hinge to the glass panel? I have no idea if the screw came loose, or perhaps a threaded "nut" glued to the backside of the glass came loose.
Either way, tearing into this display will undoubtedly cause more issue that I currently have... so I might just wait until the entire display comes loose before I fix it. Pressing the display back flush into the enclosure seems to "stick" for a few minutes before it comes out again. I wish I had a detailed picture of the backside of the display panel so I could determine my way forward. It anyone could provide a good pic of the part, that would be very useful.
When I bought this laptop at the store I was impressed by the display... all glass. I knew this type of display would be very rigid... but it never crossed my mind that the parts attached to the rigid glass would fail.

Finally found a good video on youtube of a guy taking apart this exact panel. Sure enough, I've got failing double-sided sticky tape. In my case, it is the glass digitzer panel that is "glued" into the bezel; and the double-sided tape used to hold it has failed. And the only way to fix it is to tear out the digitizer panel, thus removing all of the double-sided tape holding it together. I'll pass on that.
