@ceesdk

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, you're in need of support,

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said,

As per the specification of your PC, it does have a touchscreen: Click here

The touchscreen should work in Windows 10. If you find any issues while using the touchscreen, please keep me posted!

Cheers!

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

I installed Windows  8.1 and that brings up the touchscreen working, but there's a problem, if i touch

the screen keyboard it comes up. That's the richt side of the screen. On the far left side i don't get

any reaction pe the menu won't come up.

What does happen you can see in the pictures attached, on the left picture you see some circles dancing,

and sometimes those circles activate  a program in this case the question bar.

@ceesdk,

I thank you for your patience and it is great to hear from you. As @Flower_Bud is out for the day, I am responding on her behalf.

There seems to be an issue with the touchscreen. It could be hardware related.

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
  • Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphics drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Select the country and type the product# of the unit. Then follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Update the touchscreen firmware from the same drivers' page if it is available.
  • Then check if the issue gets resolved.
  • If it continues, then perform all the relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03488148 (HP PCs - Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues (Windows 10, 8) and check if the issue gets resolved. If it continues, then run hardware diagnostics on the touchscreen from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467259 (HP PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures)
  • Run diagnostics from the section component tests and select the touchscreen option. if diagnostics fail, then make a note of the failure code.
  • The computer needs to be repaired and the touchscreen replaced as it is faulty.

If it passes, then back up your important data and reset windows to factory settings by following directions from this link: http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04742289

This should fix the issue.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
