@Tang_Fish, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding touchscreen suddenly not working!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Let's troubleshoot this together and get your HP Envy x360 back to full functionality.

Since you've already tried reinstalling the drivers, here are a few more steps that might help:

Check Windows Updates

Sometimes, updates can affect drivers. Try checking for any pending updates:

Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any available updates.

Disable & Re-enable HID Touchscreen Driver

Open Device Manager (Press Win + X and select it).

Expand Human Interface Devices and locate HID-compliant touch screen.

Right-click and select Disable device, wait a few seconds, then Enable it again.

Check for Conflicting Software

Boot into Safe Mode (Go to Settings > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart now).

If the touchscreen works in Safe Mode, a third-party app or driver might be interfering. Try uninstalling any recent updates or software that may have caused the issue.

Perform a System Restore (If Issue Started Recently)

If the issue began after a Windows update, restoring your system to a previous point might help:

Search for "Create a restore point" in the Start menu.

Select System Restore and follow the prompts.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, let me know what you've tried, and we’ll continue troubleshooting! 😊

Looking forward to your response.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi Zoey7886,

Thanks for the tip but the touchscreen still seems to not work. I reinstalled windows 10 suddenly the touch works. When it is in the lock screen touch also works. Can you still help me out?

@Tang_Fish, Thanks for getting back to us! I appreciate you trying out the troubleshooting steps and providing those details—it really helps narrow things down.

Since the touchscreen works on the lock screen and also after reinstalling Windows 10, it sounds like something in Windows 11 might be interfering. Let’s try a few more things to pinpoint the issue:

Check Windows 11 Updates & Drivers

Even though the drivers were reinstalled, Windows might be applying an update that’s affecting them. Try this:

Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any available updates.

Check HP Support Assistant (if installed) for any driver or firmware updates specifically for your laptop model.

Test in Safe Mode

Since the touchscreen works on the lock screen but stops after logging in, let's check if a third-party app is causing conflicts:

Boot into Safe Mode:

Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.

Under the Boot tab, check Safe boot, then restart.

Test if the touchscreen works in Safe Mode.

If it works fine in Safe Mode, a background app or driver could be causing the issue. You might need to disable startup programs (Task Manager > Startup) and re-enable them one by one to find the culprit.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
