Pavillion x360 15-br018na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought a refurbished x360 this morning. The touch screen does not work.

Have tried checking the device manager it says everything is enabled and up to date.

Have tried uninstalling the driver, updating windows and everything else, and tried restoring the laptop.

Any suggestions?

@crr244,

It looks like you were interacting with @Flower_Bud, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,

As I see you have mentioned in your post that you have tried to check if the touchscreen works in the Bios or not and unfortunately, this does not work.

This clearly indicates a possible hardware failure. For further course of action, I'm going to send you a private message.

@crr244

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand, the touchscreen does not function on your notebook,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it was working fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

I have a few steps that should resolve your concern:

I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).

If it works on bios, it's a software issue, update the drivers from the HP Website, if the issue persists: please reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue

Attempt to run a test using the HP hardware diagnostic tool

Let me know how this goes,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers 🙂

Hi

I just bought the laptop refurbished the other day. It hasn't worked while I've had it and I've made no changes other than those listed above but don't know what the previous owner may have done.

It does not work on BIOS, and the diagnostic tool revealed nothing.

Is it likely to be a hardware issue?
