Yesterday my laptop trackpad was working fine, but today in the middle of playing The Sims 4 the trackpad became stuck on click/drag, so when I click once it automatically goes into drag mode, and I have to click multiple times to get rid of it. I looked online for some solves, I tried updating the Synaptics touchpad driver and also tried changing it to a mouse driver and still have the issue which leads me to think it's not an issue with the drivers. Clicklock is not turned on. Restarted multiple times which hasn't helped and don't really know what else to try.
Please help, thanks!

@hypnotismm Welcome to HP Forums!
I have a few steps to help you out:
Attempt using an alternate/external mouse.
(If that works when the touchpad is disabled on Synaptic software, it would mean that it's a touchpad failure,
However, if the external mouse doesn't work either, it could be a software/driver issue).
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:
Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.
- 1. Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
- 2. Click Device Manager.
- 3. Click + sign next to Mouse.
- 4. Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
- 5. Restart your computer.
Let me know how that pans out,
