I am trying to transfer my old VCR tapes to my Pavilion and burn then to disc but I can watch them but cannot save them to the computer.. I must tell you I am 84 and not computer literate, Is there a down load or something to make this work for me.

I understand what you are trying to do, but you can't actually "transfer" the contents of a VCR tape to the PC.
What you have to do is the following:
1) Find some way to connect the VCR to the PC -- this will depend on what kind of jacks are on the back of the VCR. You would then have to go online and purchase an adapter cable that connects those jacks to a USB port on your PC.
2) Install software on the PC that allows you to record the video and audio from playing a VCR tape.
This is a YouTube video that walks you through how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udwPo6vLfSU
Then, once you have the video file from each VCR tape stored on the PC, you now have to create a DVD-compatible file to "burn" that to DVD. Here's an example of a product that can be used to do that: https://dvdcreator.wondershare.com/video-to-dvd/burn-movie-to-dvd.html
