Pavilion 15" gaming laptop Ryzen 7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am attempting to set up dual display on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx.  I am trying to connect a Dell U2415b monitor.  I can mirror via HDMI to HDMI but that doesn't help.  I purchased an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter (USB powered) and securely connected all cables .  Windows 10 does not detect the display.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx ? For example

                  HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0102ax

Your machine should have same ports and its USB-C port does not support Alt mode. You can ONLY use HDMI port for one external monitor.  If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and notebook monitor - total 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)
