I need help turning touch pad off on my HP 250 G6 Notebook PC.

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362
System Model HP 250 G6 Notebook PC

BIOS Version/Date Insyde F.52, 3/4/2019

I have tried the following methods:
1. Since there is no obvious on/off switch or Fshortcut button, I presumed that the on/off button was hidden inside the touchpad itself.  However I was proven wrong since after holding my finger on the top-left corner for 5 seconds yielded nothing.  No small light was visible so I think my notebook is not equipped with a touchpad button.

2. Device Properties.

I go into control panel > mouse > hover over touchpad and right click and there is NO OPTION to disable the touchpad.

By selecting "Properties" for the Touchpad I am confronted again with no option to disable touchpad.

3. BIOS

I have gone into the BIOS SETTINGS by pressing f10 upon start and I cannot find any option to disable "internal pointing device" anywhere in BIOS.

Please help.

Hi.

Did you find a solution - I have the same problem?

I researched this for a few days and I don't think there is a way to disable the touchpad, however, there is a free app which I think might be better than disabling the touhpad.

It seems to me that there is a problem with this specific laptop in turning off the touchpad. No HP helplines seem to "get" the problem. Let's hope somebody can find a way out of disabling it cos it get's in the way especilly if using external mouse and composing emails.

David have you tried the touchpad blocker software and does it work? I am wary of downloading just anything off the web. 🙂

Yes I have downloaded the Touchpad Bloker software and it works fine. It's not quite as good a solution as disabling the touchpad, but disabling the touhpad doesn't seem possible...
