Hi @AtulJagtap-pc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with connecting your HP Notebook to an external monitor using a USB 3.0 to VGA adapter and the monitor is not being detected, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check the Basics:

  • Ensure that the USB to VGA adapter is securely connected to the USB port on your HP Notebook.
  • Confirm that the VGA cable is securely connected to both the adapter and the external monitor.
  • Make sure the external monitor is powered on.

Driver Installation:

  • Check if the USB to VGA adapter came with a driver CD or if there are drivers available on the manufacturer's website. Install the necessary drivers on your HP Notebook.
  • Reboot your computer after installing the drivers to ensure they are properly loaded.

Device Manager:

  • Open the Device Manager on your HP Notebook.
  • Look for the USB to VGA adapter under the "Display adapters" or "USB devices" section.
  • Ensure that the device is recognized and does not have any exclamation marks or error symbols. If there are issues, try updating or reinstalling the driver.

Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Check if the external monitor is detected in the display settings.
  • If the monitor is detected, make sure it's set to "Extend" or "Duplicate" as per your preference.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off both your HP Notebook and the external monitor.
  • Unplug the USB to VGA adapter from your notebook and wait for a few seconds.
  • Reconnect the adapter and power on both the notebook and the monitor.

Different USB Port:

  • Try using a different USB 3.0 port on your HP Notebook. Some USB ports might have insufficient power or connectivity.

Compatibility Check:

  • Verify that the USB to VGA adapter is compatible with your HP Notebook and the operating system you are using.

Test with Another Device:

  • If possible, test the USB to VGA adapter with another computer to determine if the issue is with the adapter or your HP Notebook.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that your HP Notebook's graphics drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest graphics drivers for your specific model.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and identify the source of the issue with your USB to VGA adapter connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
