Hi @JJoe1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP USB-C Dock G5 is correctly connecting the external keyboard and mouse, but the monitors are not functioning. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue.

Check Docking Station Connections

  • Ensure that both monitors are properly connected to the docking station's HDMI or DisplayPort outputs.
  • Check that the power cables for both monitors are securely connected, and the monitors are powered on.

Check Display Settings

  • Go to Display Settings on your laptop:
    1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display Settings.
    2. Scroll down to the Multiple displays section and click Detect. This will prompt your system to search for the monitors.
    3. Ensure that the display mode is set to Extend these displays or Duplicate as needed.

Ensure USB-C Compatibility

  • Check if your laptop supports video output through the USB-C port. Not all USB-C ports can handle video signals (some are only for power or data).
  • You can check your laptop specifications to confirm if the USB-C port supports DisplayPort over USB-C (DP Alt Mode).

Update Drivers and Firmware

  • Make sure that the latest firmware for the HP USB-C Dock G5 and drivers for your laptop’s graphics card are installed.
  • Visit the HP Support Page to check for any firmware updates for the docking station.
  • Update the graphics driver for your laptop, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with external displays.

Check Monitor Input Source

  • Confirm that the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) is selected on the monitors.
  • Use the monitor’s on-screen display (OSD) menu to switch to the input source connected to the docking station.

Test with Different Cables or Ports

  • Try using different HDMI or DisplayPort cables to rule out any faulty cables.
  • If your docking station has multiple output ports, try connecting the monitors to different ports.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
