Hello I have a OMEN MAX Gaming Laptop 16-ah0xxx and I use a asus rog xg27acs as external monitor (USB-C to DP connection)
The issue I'm having is everytime the laptop has to cold boot (after hours turned off or after a hard reset) my monitor doesn't turn on with the laptop, I have to unplug and plug back the cable for it to turn on. If its a fast  turn off and on or a reboot, both turn on.

I doubt it is a monitor/cable issue, since I used this "setup" before with 2 different laptops and it worked perfectly (but who knows).

What I've tried:
- Disabled Windows Fast Startup
- Disabled USBs selective suspend in the Device Manager
- Installed latest HP drivers from HP Support Assistant
- Installed latest Intel drivers for the laptop from Intel driver & support
- Disabled auto-detect on monitor
- Disabled/Enabled all the USB related options in the BIOS

I've seen in different posts and reddit that there are other people with the same problem, but never found a way to fix this. And its a bit annoying and overtime will just damage the port

I'm open to test more things or provide more information, just really want to solve this

On your monitor try these if available.

- disable sleep

 - switch version to DP 1.2 instead of 1.4 or vice-versa.

Prevent the PC from turning off the USB-C port to save power

Uncheck that "Allow ..."

You may have to do this on all USB-C ports and hubs

Try this:  Bring up the device manager and at the top click the "Scan for hardware changes"l and see if the scan turns the monitor on.

Let me know what happens.

Hi @F4K3

The issue is as follows: Intel configures the integrated graphics to be in power-saving mode, which is why the monitor doesn't turn on when you turn on the laptop. Intel acknowledges this limitation.

So, if the BIOS is configured to use the dedicated NVIDIA graphics card, the monitor's automatic sleep feature is disabled.

Try using Win + P to get the monitor to be recognized without having to disconnect it from the USB-C port. If that doesn’t work, try using the HDMI port.
