Trying to connect two monitors to the laptop, HDMI to HDMI connection works for one and bought a USB-C HDMI cable to go into the other monitor (don't have a docking station) Monitors work as they individually connect to HDMI directly. The screens are Samsung Essential curved monitor. Please help, this should work, have tried everything

Hi @Monitors2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing issues with connecting 2 monitor to your HP 14 Inch Laptop PC 14-D4000 (4A958AV).
Please note that only HDMI port supports external monitor. The SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate does not support external monitor as it not a thunderbolt port.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
