I have the HP 17-cp3000 (799U9AV) laptop and want to install the original HP USB-C Mini Dock-BB driver 1PM64AA. In the Win11 device manager under USB controllers, an "unknown USB device (error resetting the port)" is displayed with a "warning sign". The "HP USB-C Mini Dock-BB" is also displayed as a device in the Win11 device manager, but only the Windows universal driver with the driver date: June 21, 2006 is available. A newer driver from the HP download page is only available for Windows 10 (64 bit). Even if I install the HP USB-C Mini Docking Station driver package (June 1, 2018) or the HP USB-C Mini Docking Station - Firmware Update (Feb. 5, 2021), only the Windows universal driver from 2006 appears in the device manager. I cannot access the Internet via LAN using the HP USB-C Mini Dock-BB, and under "View network connections" only the WLAN driver is displayed and not an "Ethernet" driver. a) Why does the Windows universal driver always appear? b) Why can't I access the Internet when I plug in the LAN cable and why is no Ethernet driver displayed? c) Shouldn't HP products actually be able to communicate with each other? Thank you for your feedback and problem solving.

a) Windows uses a generic driver when it cannot find a compatible one. Since HP only provides a Windows 10 driver, Windows 11 defaults to the universal driver from 2006.
b) The missing Ethernet driver suggests the dock’s network adapter isn’t recognized. Without the correct driver, Windows doesn’t detect the LAN port. Minecraft Pocket Edition APK
c) HP products should work together, but compatibility issues can arise with newer OS versions. Try installing the Windows 10 driver in compatibility mode, updating Windows, and checking for optional updates in Windows Update. If issues persist, test the dock on another PC or contact HP support.
