Hello,
I have connected a usb-c mini dock to my Envy x360 Convertible 15-bp1xx. However, it fails to detect a HDMI signal from an external monitor. Trying to update the firmware results in the error as seen in the screenshot. Please advise, how I can solve this problem.

From what I see on the MiniDock documentation, the laptop you are using is not listed as being support for the MiniDock.
Is there a model number on the dock so as to verify the specs?

It's a docking station with the product number 1PM64AA.
A (powered) Dell docking station WD19S can transmit a display signal via the very same USB-C port of the notebook.
So if the Dell docking station can do the job, why can't the mini dock do the same? Would a power supply for the mini dock help?

I do see on the spec page that the dock does not come with a power supply but they do list the ones that are compatible with it.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-usb-c-mini-dock/17859030/model/17859031/document/c05763121
The software and drives section does not list a driver or firmware for Windows 11.
Here is the manual
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-usb-c-mini-dock/17859030/manuals
It indicates that if another display is connected, it will not support a HDMI connection. All of the drivers indicate that this is a device intended for Windows 7 or Windows 8 or Windows 10.
Also, the model of laptop reported in the first post is not listed for use with the mini dock, so perhaps your laptop will, not function properly that that dock.

Apparently, there was an issue with the HDMI port of my specific part, so I got a replacement from HP support and now HDMI is working in combination with my notebook, my external monitor and Windows 11. I still have occasional drop outs, though.
