Greetings & Salutations,
I just bought a UGREEN USB C to HDMI adapter model 70450 off amazon a couple of days ago and seeing as I've never used the USB C port on my laptop before and I just upgraded my second monitor (the old one was connected by a VGA to USB 3.0) and the first monitor is connected via the HDMI port. I just wanted to take advantage of the USB C port so I bought the adapter I mentioned above but when I plugged it in it doesn't recognize it let alone the other monitor, a small window pops up saying this device may be limited. I went to devices and printers to see if I had to manually install an exe file as this was the case when I bought a USB 3.0 to HDMI but still no go, also the adapter appears as a Billboard devise (not sure what that is). I also went to devise manager and checked if there were any new drivers to download but it says that I have the latest drivers I'm also running Windows 11 64-bit. I don't know if maybe the USB C port on my laptop just doesn't support video or if it could be just that the adapter may be faulty. I have a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter that's connected to a USB splitter with its own external power source (it's also a UGREEN) and this is what I'm currently using but the screen cuts out every now and again which is very annoying I read this is due to not enough power getting to the monitor but as the splitter has its own external power supply I'd figure this wouldn't be an issue but here I am, it doesn't happen very often but the fact it happens irks me to no end. Sorry for just a long question. But any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again.
Peace,
OmneRock

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05744556
It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors(only), you can use
M1: HDMI direct cable
M2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

Thanks!
I will change machines when I have the chance but until then I will do as you suggested to get the most use out of my current setup, also I will invest in a DisplayLink certified adapter. I really appreciate your time!
