HP Envy 13-ad104nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Community !

So I've got a laptop named HP Envy 13-ad104nf since May 2018. I've always wanted to use a secondary screen, as this laptop has a small screen. I've bought 3 different adapters in orders to get a USB-C to HDMI connection.

However, none of them are working, I can't see anything on my screen (it says that it has 'no signal', while I'm sure that the screen is working because I'm using it with another laptop).

After looking on the internet, I found out that I was not the only one having problem with this kind of laptop.

I've waited a long time because I was like "eh, whatever...", but now it's getting really annoying as I'm working remotely on my own computer.

I would be happy to get some help on that. Also, I know that the adapters are working fine because they can be used on the other laptop. So the problem really is the HP Envy 13 here. It's important to know that the laptop does a sound when I connect the adapter (the kind that says 'hey, we see that you connected something on the USB-C port !'), so he detects it.

Looking forward to get some feedback.

Have a nice day 🙂

I reviewed your post and I understand that the monitor is not getting detected when you connect it to the USB C port on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Have you tested the USB C port with other devices?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105501-106000/sp105685.exe

Intel: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp88001-88500/sp88146.exe

Nvidia: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp88501-89000/sp88568.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hey @The_Fossette !

Thank you so much ! My problem was that the BIOS was not up to date, so now it's all fine !

To everyone facing the same issue with the same laptop, don't hesitate to update your BIOS.

Again thank you very much, and have an extremely nice day 😍
