HP Pavilion - 14-ce0505sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently purchased a new netbook (HP Pavilion - 14-ce0505sa) I was hoping to connect 2 external monitors to the pc rather than buy a complete docking station.

I have purchased the USB-C to HMDI HP adapter to give it an additional HDMI port although it doesn't seem to work.

I thought the laptop was display alternate compatible and I am unsure how to resolve this, I have updated the BIOS, updated all graphics drivers with no luck.

Any ideas? Thanks

Assuming the HDMI port is working for one additional monitor, then please indicate the model number of the "USB-C to HMDI HP adapter "

You could try a different approach, such as

I am having a similar problem. So far I've  tried 2 USB-C to HDMI adaptors.

This one, nothing was detected. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HVQQPYK/

The one was detected as a USB 2.0 Billboard. Nothing showed on the display. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H5GWBQF/

If you find one that works, please let me know.

You may want to double check with support and make sure the USB C port actually supports DP AlT mode. I just found  out my model really doesn't. Although HP's web site says it supports it, internal documents say otherwise.

Web site says yes

But really it doesn't

I actually thought what @ntloser stated "You may want to double check with support and make sure the USB C port actually supports DP AlT mode"  I have read that on the forum about the  USB-C to HMDI HP adapter not working because of the port on the host PC not supporting that.  That is the reason I posted the link for the USB to VGA/DVI / HDMI Video Graphics Adapter.  I know that will do what the user wants.
