Hello,
I have recently purchased an HP15S-dr2019TU laptop and was trying to connect HP Dock G5 via USB Type C.
External port specs on HP support states; 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate, so due to the non-availability of Thunderbolt, I am assuming charging will not work.
However, Video is also not working via type C. Audio is working absolutely fine with the dock but the video is not going through. I tried both swapping cables on both HDMI & DisplayPort on the docking station but nothing happened.
Is it possible that the Type C port only pushes data along with audio only (without video)?
Can anyone help in explaining the capabilities of this port?
Many Thanks!

Neither of the ports you mention carry video nor can they be used for charging.
Data transfer only.
