I have a HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb050od and can't get an external VGA monitor to be recognized. I have a USB-C to VGA adapter, but it does not recognize any monitor when I plug it in.
I know the monitor works as I have hooked it up to a VGA connection on another laptop successfully. Does this laptop work with an external VGA monitor?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Drenhead,
Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out
As I understand, you're trying to connect an external VGA monitor to your notebook and it does not work.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you tried using the adapter to connect monitor from a different laptop or PC?
If not, I suggest you try using the adapter on a different laptop or PC.
Have you tried using HDMI to VGA cable to connect to monitor?
Please refer to these article for connecting your PC to an external monitor:

Keep me posted!
Cheers

I have not used this specific connector to connect from a different laptop. This is, however, the second adapter I have tried on this laptop and neither of them have worked. I don't have access to another computer with a USB-C connection, so I can't try this.

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
When you connect a monitor to the computer, it's a plug in play device and it should connect automatically and there are not much troubleshooting steps, we could try apart from changing the adapter.
