Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d0000 (3S9N6AV)

Hi y'all.

For the past 8 weeks I've been using a Victus 16.1 gaming laptop (i5 11400h with 32 gig of ram and windows 11 22H2) with and external touchscreen monitor from G/Story using a USB-C to USB-C cable directly from the usb-c port of the laptop... but last night I pluged in the cable and no video signal to the monitor.... the hub is still recongnized in the device manager and the ^generic bilboard display^ driver is installed and the device presents no issue, according to de device manager. The cable and screen work fine, I have another HP laptop with usb-c dp capabilites and have no issue working there. I've tried all the basic things and recomendations from other forum posts and nothing, like removing the devices and reinstalling windows and nothing. The laptop is still under warranty but it's a pain to send it back to RMA and not having it for who knows how much time.... and the hdmi still works fine and my external screen has hdmi also, so I still can use it but with the messines of having two cables runing accros the desk....

What could it  be the problem? This is just an  isolated thing or it's a desing issue? I've seen at least 4 more people having the same problem.... It's a shame that this happend cause it's a really good laptop and have, at least until now, all that I needed..... Some clues? Someone?

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Good day!

I have the same problem in HP Laptop 16-d0283TX, before it works using type-c hub suddenly it stop working.

The specs confirm it has display port, 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge).

I tried the usb-c hub in my other laptop and it works well. Please an need help on how to make it works again.

Thank you in advance.

You've just  saved me at least 60 bucks.

I was thinking about buying a usb-c hub to probe the other functionalities, like Ethernet 1 gig and HDMI, but just by the description of your problem it seems like it's a wide spread problem among this models and looks like a USB controller one.

An HP support employee already made contact with me to guide me thru the proper channels so I could resolve this issue, the laptop it's still under guarantee. The last week was a holiday week where I live so I'm just back up online and taking care of that.

Just a friendly advice, don't use Google translate cause is awful when structure and grammar we are talking about, use another one like deep translate or similar.

Thanks.

Thanks for the help and advice... it's much appreciated.

The last four days have been a strugle with the HP support team through whatsapp.

Really long response times, asking me the same 4 things over and over, requesting for videos, photos and other hoops to jump thru and in the end they just said to me "... your device does not support video thru usb-c..." and then continues to send me the specs for the device where is stated clearly that the USB-C port is DisplayPort 1.4 capable and the laptop WAS WORKING IN THAT WAY FOR A WEEK, nearly.....

At this this I'm just hopeless for a proper Hp response to the matter and I will have to live with a usb-c port that only works halfway it's specs....

Reagrdless of my misfortune I thank everyone that helped me and commented in this thread, at this time I don't expect much for the support team of HP.
