Laptop: HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-y0XX
Product Number: X7U84UA#ABA
I recently bought Lenovo ThinkVision M14 as a second monitor which supports only USB C connection.
My laptop has USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type C) port.
Everytime I connect the external monitor over USB C port, get error message Display Connection might be limited.
Not sure whats is the exact issue and how to fix it

Your machine is an HP ENVY x360 - 13-y013cl, its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05318836
It has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C™) which does not support Alt Mode. Your Lenovo Thinkvision M14 monitor is
https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/thinkvisionM14
I believe it requires USB-C with Alt Mode therefore they are not compatible.
Regards.
