I'm trying to connect a new monitor to my laptop  Both are new.  Connected the HDMI cables to both.  Monitor will not power on.  Downloaded driver.  Pressed the on button for 10 seconds.  No luck.

@Terri12

The monitor needs to be already powered ON when you connect it to the laptop.

The powering of the monitor has nothing to do with the HDMI cable.

Also, no drivers are needed for monitor connections -- as those are hardware connections.
