Good day
I have recently run into the issue where my display does not have the option to mirror when using hdmi to my screen. The option shows when i press windows+p but selecting duplicate display does nothing, in settings the option to duplicate display is unavailable. I have contacted Intel and they were unable to assist me and suggested i contact HP.
Will greatly appreciate any help
Regards

Hi @ShabzzzDJ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble mirroring the display of your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop to an HDMI device, there are several steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check the HDMI cable: Ensure that the HDMI cable you are using is properly connected to both the laptop and the HDMI device (such as a monitor or TV). Try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any cable-related problems.
- Verify the HDMI port: Confirm that you're using the correct HDMI port on your laptop. Some laptops have multiple HDMI ports, so make sure you're using the one designated for display output.
- Windows display settings: Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings" from the context menu. In the "Multiple displays" section, make sure that "Extend these displays" or "Duplicate these displays" is selected, depending on your preference. If the HDMI device is not detected, click on the "Detect" button to see if Windows can identify it.
- Graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the official HP support website and download the latest graphics drivers for your specific laptop model. Install the drivers and restart your laptop to see if the issue is resolved.
- Update Windows: Ensure that your operating system is up to date. Windows updates often include bug fixes and compatibility improvements that can help resolve display issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates.
- Test with another HDMI device: If possible, try connecting your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop to a different HDMI device, such as another monitor or TV. This will help determine if the problem lies with the laptop or the original HDMI device.
- Try a different display mode: While in the Windows display settings, experiment with different display modes, such as "Second screen only" or "PC screen only," and then switch back to "Extend these displays" or "Duplicate these displays" to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check BIOS settings: Restart your laptop and access the BIOS settings by pressing the appropriate key during startup (usually Del, F2, or F10). Look for any settings related to display or external monitors and ensure they are configured correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
