I needed to update my AMD Radeon graphics driver ver 17.5.1, and while doing so, installation finished, but I got Error 1603, which said that driver was not able to fully instal. I started googling and tried all that I could find. I installed all the newest win updates, I updated NetFramework, and I used AMD CleanupUtility, and I also used DDU. After all that steps I again tried to install it, but to no avail. No I am stuck with only windows-inlcuded graph driver, but it is not a permament solution. Any help with this?
Specs:
AMD Quad-Core A8-6410 2.0GHz

AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB DDR3L

Did you ensure you were in Safe Mode when you ran DDU?
Also, did you let DDU run until it rebooted the PC -- without any intervention from you?
IF so, I don't know what to tell you as I have done this over a dozen times and not had it fail, once.

This is a fairly common problem with the AMD ReLive drivers. I have received this quite often -- so I have developed a method of installing the new driver versions that works, as follows:
1) Download and run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove the existing drivers: http://www.wagnardsoft.com/
NOTE: This must be run in SAFE mode to work properly.
2) Download and run the AMD Clean Utility to remove any final traces of the old AMD drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx
3) Install the new AMD driver version.
Also, you should note that the 1603 error has been a known problem with recent AMD drivers.
Good Luck

Yes, I was in safe mode and it ran until it rebooted. Thankfully I was able to find old drivers back from 2015, which kinda suck, but will work temporarily, until I reinstall Windows because of this problem...
