@CAB66, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.
I'd be happy to help you get your USB-C hub working with your HP Pavilion x360. Here are a few steps to ensure compatibility and proper functionality:
Check USB-C Port Capabilities
Not all USB-C ports support data, video, and power. Some HP Pavilion x360 models only support data transfer and charging, but not DisplayPort Alt Mode (for external monitors) or Power Delivery (for powering the laptop).
- Visit HP official specs page for your exact model: Official HP® Support
Enter your product number (found on the bottom of your laptop or in HP Support Assistant) to confirm USB-C capabilities.
Use a Compatible USB-C Hub
Make sure your hub supports the functions you need (e.g., HDMI, Ethernet, USB-A ports). If you're trying to use video output, ensure the hub supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and your laptop’s USB-C port does too.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Outdated firmware or drivers can cause USB-C issues.
- Go to HP’s support site: Official HP® Support
- Enter your Pavilion x360 model number.
- Download and install the latest:
- BIOS
- Chipset drivers
- Thunderbolt/USB drivers (if available)
Test the Hub
- Plug in the hub directly to the USB-C port (avoid using adapters).
- Connect a known working device (e.g., USB drive, HDMI monitor).
- Check Device Manager for any errors or missing drivers.
Power and Charging Notes
If your hub supports charging (Power Delivery), ensure:
- The hub is connected to a compatible USB-C charger.
- Your Pavilion x360 supports charging via USB-C (check specs).
I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
