HP Notebook - 17-by0090cl

Using multiple displays through an HDMI connection to a Samsung monitor. I have Remembered the window location based on the monitor connection checked.  It is not keeping the window on the monitor. When I put up or come back and log in all windows are on the laptop and I have to drag and drop to the other monitor. This worked fine for the first year or more when I had the laptop. I also lose connection and have to unplug the HDMI from the laptop and plug it back in. This is the only way I can get it to work.

The specs of your machine is

             https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06156396

It ONLY has 1 HDMI port.  If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Other option (USB-A dock) :   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05357751
