One of my monitors (HP 24 mh) is attached to a post that allows it to be adjusted up and down as well as tilt. The monitor simply clips in and out from the post. I have two monitors and want to mount both on a desktop bracket so I can get a better height adjustment. on the back of the monitor in the slot where it fastens to the post there are four machine screws in a 100 mm x 100 mm pattern. My intuition is that I can remove them and use the holes to fasten the bracket to the monitor. I am reluctant to remove them if they are holding any internal components, but it seems odd they would be in the 100 x 100 mm pattern required for a VESA bracket if they weren't intended for that purpose. Can anyone help me out here?

Its specs

It does not have anything suitable for standard VESA mount. No other part(s), only itself

In fact, it is VESA compatible. The four screws on the back in the 100x100 mm pattern will accept a VESA plate and are not connected with any internal parts. I could not determine this from the HP site so I just took the plunge and things worked out.
