VESA mount for 32" Monitor

HP Recommended
HP Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a 32" HP monitor (model number # 2UD96AA.  It came with a VESA adapter (part # L12329-001) which does not fit on the monitor.  HP Support sent me a replacement adapter which was the exact same as the one that came with the monitor.  They have then since sent me a replacement monitor TWICE and both have the same VESA adapter which does not fit.

What adapter will fit and how do I get one?

It does not make any sense. All standard VESA holes should fit standard stands, arms, wall mounts ....The specs says nothing about VESA standard

Looks like you need more part called mount plate:

And they sent you the required part. You have to screw the plate to your monitor before you can use its holes.

Regards.
