I have a hp elitebook 840 G3.My laptop's display has broken.So,I use an externl monitor of dell.I can connect the monitor to my laptop using vga cable.Some days ago,When the laptop boots, The laptop's screan was automatically opened to monitor.But now during boot time my laptop's screan dose not opens automatically at external dell monitor.
Please tell me that what should I do to automatically opens laptop's screan to external monitor(dell in1930) during boot time using vga cable.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... and I would like to help you.
(1) Check cable connectors for dust/dirt, test another vga cable
(2) Connect vga cable
(3) Switch on external monitor
(4) Switch on your notebook
(5) If your computer is starting (hard disk leds is blinking ... fan is running ... )
- wait a few minutes
- Press [fn] + F8 several times ( wait 5 seconds in-between )
- Press [winkey] + p, press cursor [down] and [ENTER/Return] ... repeat several times ( wait 5 seconds in-between )
(6) Please report your results
