I'm having the same problem with my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-bl075nr. I previoiusly sent it in last year because there was an audible squeal coming from the battery when I dimmed the screen at all (HP made it better, but it's still there, but not worth the hassle to send it back again).
Now, I have the vertical streaks/lines/bars/ghost in the display just like the OP. Any bright spot on the screen causes streaks to travel to the top. I've included my own photo of the problem below.
I see it on the BIOS screen (although less prominent). It looks like the monitor power supply is failing and not getting enough juice to drive the LCD?
I sure hope HP chooses to cover this under warranty since it's HP who chose to shove cheap short-life power supply parts in to their premium laptop line.
HP: please contact me for another warranty repair on this laptop.

Just to warn others:
Even though your HP laptop may develop this problem over time, HP will NOT cover the repair of this common zero-day problem after their 1 year warranty. Many people don't notice this monitor power-supply problem, but it's often still there.
Essentially, when you buy an HP laptop, it's likely going to degrade over time at no fault of yours. HP manufacturing chooses cheap cheap cheap components that don't last very long. The useful lifetime of your HP laptop will not reach 4-5 years, so take that in to consideration when amortizing your purchase--in this case, this laptop cost me about $900/year. Not a good investment at all, and not what anyone would choose.
HP says this repair costs over $500 (for a new monitor) and if you compain, they may offer a discount. However, it's still an "FU" to their customers given that it's a problem with their manufacturing/design and not their customers abusing the laptop.
THEY choose the electronic parts (capacitors, etc.) that are cheap and wear out about 6-12 months after your warranty has expired. I can understand if they didn't forsee their cost-saving choices' impact on the products they sold to their customers, but to not take responsibility is inexcusable.
I'll never buy HP again, but just wanted to warn others to stay away (assuming this post isn't deleted by HP). Of course, you may be statistically lucky and have a laptop that doesn't develop this and/or other problems shortly after your warranty expires.
