HP Envy - 7- U177cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to video conference using the camera built into the frame of my notebook HP Envy - 7 - u177cl. It works ok for face recognition but with the Zoom app it only takes a picture and does not do a video of me for the video conferencing. Does this camera actually do video conferencing? Do I need to add software to get it to do video?

@chawk316

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, this sounds like an issue with the ZOOM app as camera functionality is proven as it takes photos.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue,

  • Have you tried with a different app such as Skype?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362313-How-Do-I-Test-My-Video- How Do I Test My Video? from zoom.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
