HP Pavilion Notebook E9N37EA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Videos (except online videos), when played on any video player, keep on freezing/lagging for 15-20 secs. every 15-45 mins.

I only update thru the HP Support Assistant and it says I have the recent drivers installed.

Please help.

Hi @Gilbz,

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, videos would freeze or lag while playing

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Are you referring to video players installed  on your computer or online?

Have you tried to play the videos using different media player?

Are you playing videos using CD/DVD or the files saved on your computer?

Let's try updating the BIOS from the Link.

Update Graphic drivers:

1. Search Windows for 'update', then click Windows Update in the results.

> If updates are available to download, click Install now.

> If no updates are currently listed, click Check for updates, then click Install now after Windows detects available updates.

Keep me posted!

Hi Flower_Bud,

The BIOS update did the trick. But to answer your queries (for others who are facing the same problem like me)

Are you referring to video players installed  on your computer or online?

Video players installed on my notebook are the ones lagging

Have you tried to play the videos using different media player?

All installed video players have the same issue of lagging/freezing.

Are you playing videos using CD/DVD or the files saved on your computer?

       Files saved on my PC.

However, is it normal that HP Support Assitant will not detect BIOS updates? I only rely to this on my updates on top of the Windows Update Settings.

@I thought my BIOS was updated too. I tried downloading the BIOS as recommended by @Flower_Bud particular for my notebook, and the "download" in deed detected that my BIOS needs to be updated.
