Hi @Rico12341
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) isn't working on your OMEN 27qs monitor over HDMI, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check HDMI Version Compatibility
- Ensure you're using an HDMI 2.1 cable, as older versions may not support VRR properly.
- If your device only supports HDMI 2.0, VRR may be limited or unavailable.
2. Enable VRR in Windows Settings
- Go to Settings > System > Display.
- Click Advanced display settings.
- Look for Variable Refresh Rate and toggle it ON.
3. Verify Graphics Card Support
- Ensure your GPU supports HDMI VRR.
- If using an NVIDIA GPU, enable G-Sync Compatible Mode in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
- If using an AMD GPU, enable FreeSync in the AMD Radeon Software.
4. Update Drivers and Firmware
- Update your graphics drivers from the official NVIDIA or AMD website.
- Check for monitor firmware updates on the Official HP® Support
5. Adjust Monitor Settings
- Open the OMEN 27qs monitor menu.
- Navigate to Gaming Settings and ensure VRR or FreeSync is enabled.
6. Try a Different HDMI Port
- Some HDMI ports may not support VRR. Try switching to another port on your GPU or monitor.
