HP Notebook - 15-db0125au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a good installation and run with AMD Adrenalin 18.7.1 on my HP Notebook - 15-db0125au (HP Laptop 15-db0xxx) on W10 1807 for more than 2 months, W10 1809 update last evening it set it back to  17.7 :Crying:.

Error 182.png

Note that it indicates 18.7.1 but one you access the installed Radeon settings app it displays:

17.7.png

The previous steps I've done but no avail. I will try to uninstall the drivers completely but might be a pain to set it back. Has anyone experience this or found a fix.

regards

Update on this. Patience was required to get this fixed, I found that it always reverts back with for HP settings is due to oem17.inf(this may vary depending your notebook model). I searched this file that reside in Windows(old) W101807 and Windows W101809 and moved it somewhere else. This stopped Windows Check for Updates that installs AMD 17.7.

I was able to install 18.9.3 by installing the WT6A_INF from the 18.9.3 Packages>Drivers>Display and finding the ccc2_install.exe from the B333740 folder.

It wasn't my wish to disrupt the HP or AMD drivers, but tweak is a necessity as the Ryzen 5 2500U is a good product. It is crippled by outdated drivers.
