I want to use a usb-c hub to connect an external display (among others), but the usb-c port is only data.  My question is there a way for me to connect the port to the internal graphics card and not lose the data capabilities?  I've not worked with laptops (on the inside) only desktops.  At home, I want to connect to Roku TV.  At work it will be with ASUS Monitors.  I do have HDMI port but like I said I would like to use just one plugin to simplify things.

If you wish to test or re-engineering please do your self. This WILL break your machine for sure.  If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Not sure what you mean break my machine.  I know on a desktop I could do this, but I as i said before I've not worked with the insides of a laptop, I know they are different.
