HP Laptop 14-bw0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My camera and mic have stopped working. I get the message 'We can't find your camera' error code 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>
I have tried everything! Including resetting my PC. When I try and use the Operating System Check I get an error message 'Not seeing the HP Operating System Check Window?' then takes me to a document about resetting my PC...which I've already done! There are no imaging drivers in my device manager. I've followed every instruction including advice from someone on live chat and nothing has worked which was why I reset my laptop as a last resort (which took over 13 hours) HELP!! I need to be able to skype for work and I'm desperate to try and get this sorted and worried that I can't if a reset didn't help :'(

@Bagsy45 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting a 0xA00F4244 error code.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please perform the below steps and check.

Try a hard reset

When Windows doesn’t see devices like cameras, sometimes it just needs to be forced to look again.  Try a power reset.

Once detected, you should see the camera in the Device Manager.  Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.  Expand the Cameras section to see your camera.

TIP:  You can disable the web cam here in the Device Manager by right-clicking on the camera and select Disable Device.  Don’t forget to enable it later if needed.

 Install the driver

Sometimes Windows needs the latest camera driver for the camera to function well.  While in the Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Update Driver.  Then click Search Automatically for updated driver software.  The latest driver is always available via Windows Update.
