Hello,
I recently bought a second-hand Hp laptop model hp 14- bp072na and I have noticed that the webcam does not work and comes up with the following error when using the Camera App. the microphone works properly and the light which indicated the webcam is on comes on. The Camera shows up in Device manager as HP Truevision HD Camera. I was hoping that this was only the camera app but zoom does not work either.
(this is the error I am getting in the app Photo Capture Start Timeout 0xA00F4292)
I have tried a few things by looking at other posts on the forums and also watching some youtube videos but i can't get it working. Any help would be much appreciated.
Here is what I have tried so far.
1. fresh install of Windows 10.
2. going into device manager and uninstalling and then restarting my computer, I have also tried the update drives and it says the best drivers are installed.
3. opening the Camera setting and looking at privacy options, I have made sure that permissions are on and the camera app can use the webcam.
4. reset the camera app in apps and features
5 I have also made sure that I don't have a button on my keyboard that turns the camera off and on and there is no privacy switch or slider.
6 I have allowed the app thru the firewall and I'm using windows defender.
7 tried running this "msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic" and it seemed to find nothing
I'm stumped and happy to try any suggestions
Please any help would be much appreciated to get this working as i need it for job interviews!
Thanks

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Allow your computer access to the camera
- Press the Win+X keys on your keyboard -> choose Settings from the menu.
- Inside the Settings window select Privacy.
- Navigate to Camera -> activate Allow apps to access your camera.
- In case the toggle mentioned above is greyed out, first enable the Allow access to the camera on this device option.
2. Allow Camera app access through your PCs firewall or antivirus software
- Click on Cortana search -> type firewall -> choose the first option from the top.
- Inside the Firewall settings -> select the Allow an app or service through Windows Defender Firewall.
- Search for the camera app and allow both incoming and outgoing access.
To allow camera access through third-party antivirus software (steps vary depending on software):
- Open up the antivirus software by double-clicking the icon.
- Navigate to Firewall settings -> make sure the Camera app is allowed access.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
