Hi @Spathak19,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing two separate issues with your HP Notebook - 14s-Dk0093au running Windows 10 (64-bit): a non-functioning webcam and audio muting/unmuting itself. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these issues:
Webcam Not Working
- Check Privacy Settings: Ensure that your privacy settings allow apps to access your webcam. Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and make sure access is enabled for the apps you're trying to use the webcam with.
- Update Webcam Drivers: Go to the Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu), find your webcam under "Cameras" or "Imaging devices," right-click it, and select "Update driver." You can search automatically for updated driver software. If that doesn't work, visit the HP support website to find and manually install the latest drivers for your model.
- Re-enable the Webcam: In Device Manager, if you see your webcam, try disabling and then re-enabling it. Right-click on the webcam and select "Disable device," then right-click again and select "Enable device."
- Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve hardware issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
- HP Support Assistant: HP notebooks often come with HP Support Assistant pre-installed. Use this application to check for hardware issues and updates.
Audio Muting/Unmuting Itself
- Check Keyboard Shortcuts: Make sure there isn't a stuck key on your keyboard that might be causing the muting/unmuting. Clean your keyboard if necessary.
- Update Audio Drivers: Like with the webcam, updating your audio drivers might resolve the issue. Go to Device Manager, find your audio device under "Sound, video and game controllers," right-click it, and select "Update driver."
- Sound Settings: Go to Sound settings by right-clicking the sound icon in the taskbar and selecting "Open Sound settings." Check the output device settings and ensure everything is configured correctly.
- Software Conflicts: Consider if any recently installed applications might be conflicting with your audio settings. Try running the laptop in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, a software conflict could be the cause.
- Check for Malware: Sometimes, malware can cause strange behavior on your computer. Run a thorough scan with your antivirus software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
