Hi!  I don't think my webcam is working properly.  In device manager the imaging device is HP TrueVision HD.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, drver is updated.  Laptop also came with Cyberlink YouCam.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times.  I get a warning message that YouCam cannot connect to the webcam and to try another capturing device.  Skype shows both TrueVision and YouCam as options, neither work.  Multiple tests of webcam all failed.  I have no idea if the webcam ever worked as I never tried it before now.  My daughter is supposed to be doing online SAT prep tutoring using Skype and we can't get the webcam to work.  However, if I click on Camera, that does work and I can take a pic.    Camera and webcam use the same lens, correct?  I have been fooling with this thing for 10 hours now with no luck.  I've tried every suggestion out there online aside from taking the bezel off the screen and trying to see if its an actual hardware problem.  Wanted to see if there was anything else I might have not tried first before I resorted to dismantling the screen.

@ceyanne You seem to have covered all the steps and since the issue persists, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options to get the device repaired,

follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, is yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
