Troubleshooting black screen issues on HP Notebooks: Click here to view the instructions!

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All,

I recently started having issues with my inbuilt webcam on my laptop. All of a sudden it went black and green (like a photo negative). I contacted Microsoft tech support to have them check it out for any driver related issues but there aren't any. The technician said it is a hardware issue. I was wondering whether this is possible all of a sudden without me dropping or in any way altering the condition of the laptop.

Also when i turn on the laptop and then turn on the camera the image is clear for a few seconds before going black and green.

Does anyone have any tips or solution to this as i need the webcam for work.

Thanks

Hi There,

Sorry for the delayed reply. Unfortunately none of those suggestions worked. The issue still remains. I have attached an image just to explain further,

Any more ideas or solutions as to why this happened all of a sudden?

ThanksSnapshot_20200427.JPG

@Ash_k,

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  • Make sure your video recording environment has good lighting.

  • Change the image quality, brightness, contrast, and other adjustments in the webcam software.

To resolve problems with choppy playback, take the following actions:

  • Reduce the size of the video image in the webcam software.

  • Use a high-speed Internet connection.

  • Do not use other high-speed USB devices while using the webcam.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
