pavilion 15 e-018tx NB PC, [serial number removed], Product number:E3B58PA
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

bought on september 2013.....played alot of games till 2016.....blue screen of death 2017 november.......changed the hdd of WD blue with toshiba MQ01ABD050 and OS was win 10........march 2018 changed the OS to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.......3 weeks ago again i changed the OS to win 8.1.......post 2-3 days of installation  it freezes on welcome(the dots stop moving) screen while booting.......tried every possible solution on internet on hp community and microsoft community..........all in vein.....took it to three experts....they just re formatted the OS and it ran smoothly for 2-3 days after each expertise and then the same story.....last expert suggested that it possibly occuring from amd gpu.....he suggested me to disable the amd radeon hd 8670m then use it for couple of days.....but the problem is after disabling on uninstalling the amd display adapter when i restart my laptop it come back enabled again.......i have heard that if there is no option to change the display adapter from bios then it will reappear no matter how many times you disable it......so my conclusive question is can we permanently disable the AMD RADEON HD 8670M ??????

@sandy_007 I'm afraid the answer to your question is NO, you cannot disable the onboard/dedicated AMD Graphics memory as its system managed and the fact that the issue with the OS occurred 3yrs after purchase, my best guess is that it either happens due to a corrupt installation of an update or as you've probably concluded before replacing the hard drive that it was the hard drive...

That said, I suggest you reinstall the original OS using the HP Recovery Media to revert back to the OS you have on the device when the PC was purchased as it would contain the drivers for the AMD and other factory components, hence resolving the issue we've got: Click here to know how to obtain a recovery media.

Could there be any problem with graphics card???...like if it has become faulty or partially damaged ???...how do i check that???.......all the guys whom i approached said nothing is wrong with OS....either HDD or graphics card is faulty......So they first went on eliminating  if there is a problem with gpu and asked to disable it......can we physically remove the graphics card ??.......could it be replaced in future??

@sandy_007 Replacing graphics card is not an option on a laptop, since its integrated to the motherboard if you've identified an issue with the hardware component, you may need to get the component repaired via HP, that said, I recommend you run an extensive hardware check to identify the issue:

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
