Thanks, everyone.  I've updated the firmware now and ordered one of the HP active pens, as noted.  Now just need to cross my fingers and wait for it to arrive to see if it works.  Hopefully so.

This has been a real challenge, but finally with the help of a few others on the team I have documentation that confirms the pen we mentioned is for your model. Whew!
