Whenever I start my pc, everything automatically scrolls down to the bottom of the page and also the cursor goes at the end of the line. Seems like some driver issue. Please help.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Is this option limited to Google Chrome or does the same happen on other browsers and offline as well?

(There are some known issue with Chrome: you may want to reset or use a different browser instead)

If it's offline and on other browsers as well, I suggest you disable the mouse using the Synaptics icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar and use an external mouse,

If the issue persists, it's possible the space bar is faulty, clean it with a damp cloth and if nothing works, run a hardware test on both the mouse and keyboard: Click here for instructions.

If I have helped you resolve the issue,

Feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon

Followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'

And Have a great day ahead!

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I Understand the scroll key works on its own,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you try with an alternate or external mouse to check with that works?

If you haven't, please try with an alternate monitor after disabling the Synaptics touchpad,

if the issue persists, Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:

Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.

  • 1.   Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.

  • 2.   Click Device Manager.

  • 3.   Click + sign next to Mouse.

  • 4.   Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".

  • 5.   Restart your computer.

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as  well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

{If this resolved your concern, Click on "Accept as Solution" & the Purple Thumbs up}.

It is offline as well. If I open any word document there too I face the same problem. I didn't understand the process of disabling the touchpad. I couldn't see any iconic on the bottom right. Please elaborate on that. Any other solution in terms of other drivers will be much appriciated.

How do I disable the touchpad?

@shbhm911

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

I understand you want to disable the touchpad.

You could try changing the way the control zone touchpad works, using the below steps:

  1. On the Start screen, type control panel, then click Control Panel from the list of results.

  2. Click the View by drop-down menu, and select large icons.

  3. Click HP Control Zone.

    Figure: HP Control Zone

  4. Remove the check mark next to Enable Edge Swipes, then click OK.

The left and right control zones now accept right-click and left-click actions.

For more details, click here

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.
